Apple Releases two new SWEETS

Yeah, I went there.

iWork looks awesome, but iLife is even better!
I am so excited to integrate the new version of iWeb in my website, and the "faces" trick in iPhoto looks downright awesome.
Check it out at apple.com/ilife

hey jer,

thought i'd drop you a line. hope all's well in sunny (??) california. Spain has been wonderful thus far and I am very much enjoying it.

getting back to the subject of your post though, do you think it's worth purchasing, or should we all just wait at this point until technology (and Steve Jobs n'co. especially) ease of the "shock and awe [and sometimes wow]" improvements and latest generation programs and features?

i'm mostly of the latter mind: waiting until things die down on the "new technology every season!" scene.

take care,
-nick

hey nick,
glad to hear you're doing well in espana!
it all depends on what you use and how much you use it. i use iwork on my macbook more than office (which I only have on my comp because some things are easier to transfer between pc/mac). i use ilife a TON.
i edit my youth group's pics with iphoto, i edit their movies with imovie, i've recorded albums on garageband, and my website is designed in iweb. so, i bought both iwork and ilife shortly after they were announced.
i think it's worth the upgrade if you think the faces, places, and facebook integration in iphoto is something you will use often, or if any of the new technologies will benefit your computing. the ilife/iwork 08 suites are NOT bad by any stretch of the imagination.
a lot of people said that the announcements at macworld were "evolutionary, not revolutionary," and I agree with them. however, if you think these new features are worth the investment, i would say go for it.
personally, i can't wait until wednesday, when my copy of iwork arrives, and later this month, when ilife arrives.
